Police searching for missing Alaska man
By ANGELA BRANDT - Independent Record - 06/10/09
Authorities are searching for an Alaska man who failed to show up in Wolf Creek as expected Sunday.

Elbert Anderson Ross, 75, was driving from his home in Wasilla, Alaska, with the ashes of a loved one to be scattered at Wolf Creek Cemetery, according to Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton.

A family member called law enforcement officials Monday to report Ross missing.

Ross is described as 5-foot-7 and about 160 pounds. He is bald with some grey hair and blue eyes. Ross is reportedly driving a blue 2002 Kia Rio with an Alaska license plate of EKA969.

Dutton said Ross possibly was seen asking for directions to the cemetery at Oasis Bar in Wolf Creek on Friday.

An attempt-to-locate call has been put out in Montana, Washington, Idaho and Nevada.

Anyone with information on Ross’ whereabouts is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 447-8293 and ask for Deputy Brent Colbert.
