An Aniak man is dead after he suffered severe injuries in a snowmachine accident this weekend, Alaska State Troopers said.
Floyd Nook, 32, died following the accident reported to troopers at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
The accident took place about three miles upriver from Kalskag, troopers said. Its circumstances were not immediately available, although troopers said alcohol was involved and neither Nook nor his passenger were wearing a helmet.
Nook received fatal head injuries, and his passenger, Josephine Morgan, 35, of Aniak, suffered injuries to her neck and leg, troopers said.
Morgan was flown to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corp. in Bethel after being treated at the Kalskag clinic, troopers said.
