A man who forced two teenaged girls into his truck, raping one of them before setting them free, is being sought by Anchorage police.
The attack took place Monday at about 10 p.m., when the man approached the two 15-year-old girls who were walking near Klatt and Johns roads in South Anchorage, police said.
He told the girls he had a gun and forced them into his truck, described as a newer, black extended-cab pickup with a leather interior. Its exact make and model was unknown.
Inside, he told one girl to lie down in the back seat while he sexually assaulted the other girl in the front passenger seat, police said. During the attack, a vehicle drove by, apparently startling him, and he drove the girls to the north end of Johns Road, police said.
There, he told them to get out and look away until he left, police said.
The rapist is described as white or black with light skin, in his early to mid 30s, with short, dark hair, police said. He was clean-shaven and was wearing dark blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP or to submit tips anonymously online at www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com. Tips leading to an arrest can bring a reward of up to $1,000 cash.
