I’m asking fellow Muldooners, sitting on the fence, to consider sending James "Pete" Peterson to Juneau to represent us in the state house, District 19.
Pete took our fight against Enstar's 22% rate hike to the next level by launching an online petition to the Regulatory Commission of Alaska demanding they reject the increase. The incumbent politician, Bob Roses, rejects the idea of fighting the rate hike and that legislators should not fight for their constituents before the Regulatory Commission (Channel 7 debates). I would add that Roses didn’t vote to support AGIA either.
Bob Roses is out of touch with his constituency and all Alaskans who rely on natural gas. A rate increase will not only increase Anchorage property taxes but the many Muldooners working in the service sector can not afford these increases and our senior citizens are struggling, now, to make ends meet on fixed incomes. The trickle-down theory only raises the boats of the wealthy.
Pete will work for us to find solutions to rising energy costs and believes legislators should always stand up for their constituents. That’s good enough for my vote!
