A vandal drove a state Department of Transportation bull dozer into the ocean in Kodiak Sunday, causing more than $100,000 in damage. See the dispatch below.

A Detachment

Location: Angoon

Case Number: 08-85502

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

Text: On 10/12/2008, at approximately 1055 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a Ford SUV
by the Angoon Trading Company in Angoon. An investigation revealed that
on 10-11-08, at approximately 1015pm, a15 year old male from Angoon was
operating a 1997 Ford SUV and lost control of the vehicle hitting the
Angoon Trading Company building and a 1988 Box Truck. The SUV sustained
damage to the driver's side front and rear and needed to be towed from
the scene. The Box Truck received damage to the passenger side rear.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the driver to the clinic and
later transported to the Sitka hospital due to head injuries. One
passenger was in the SUV and sustained minor injuries to his nose caused
by the deployment of the air bag. The investigation is on going.

Location: Juneau

Case Number: 08-84614

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

Text: On 10/08/2008, at approximately 1635 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a Plymouth
van and a Mazda truck on Egan Drive near the Nugget intersection in
Juneau. An investigation revealed that Stanley Devries (age 53) of
Juneau was operating a 1995 Plymouth van inbound on Egan Drive when he
changed lanes and struck the rear end of a 2000 Mazda truck driven by
Heather Hintermeister (age 30). The van sustained front end damage and
was towed from the scene. The truck received damage to the rear bumper
and tailgate. EMS responded to the scene but did not transport anyone
to the hospital. Minor injuries to the passenger of the van were caused
by the deployment of the air bag. Hintermeister was issued a summons
for Operating a Vehicle without a Valid Driver's License and provided
with a court date.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision-Damage,

Text: On 10/13/08 at 1303 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a
report of a single car Motor Vehicle Collision at mile 2 of the South
Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that Chrystina Jacobson, age
16, of Ketchikan was driving a 1993 Subaru Northbound on the South
Tongass Highway when she lost control and crossed the centerline and hit
a guardrail. The vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 worth of
damage. No injuries were reported and Jacobson reported wearing her seat
belt.

Text: On 10/12/2008 at 1817 hours, the Alaska State Troopers arrested
Rodney D. Howard, 47 of Naukati on two outstanding warrant. The first
warrant was for Failure to Obey a Citation (no proof of insurance
$210.00) and the second warrant was for Failure to Obey a Citation (fail
to register a vehicle $85.00). Howard was transported and remanded to
the Craig Community Jail.

Type: Criminal Mischief III (DV) and Assault IV(DV)
Text: On 10/12/08 at approximately 1603 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence located on
Mayflower Lane, Wasilla. Alaska State Troopers contacted Christopher
Maxson, age 19, of Wasilla during the investigation. Investigation
revealed that Maxson had assaulted a family member, a friend, and also
caused damage to the residence. Maxson was arrested on the charges of
Assault 4th DV and Criminal Mischief 3rd DV. Maxson was transported to
Matsu PreTrial Facility where he was remanded into their custody with no
bail.

Case number: 08-85752
Type: Motor Vehicle Collision -Injuries

Text: On 10/12/2008, at approximately 2258 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision at Knik Goose Bay Rd.
and Commadore Rd. near Wasilla. Investigation revealed that 42 yoa,
Karen Roman of Wasilla was traveling west bound driving a 2001 Ford
F150. James Delpozzo 17 yoa of Wasilla, failed to yield after stopping
at the intersection of Commadore RD and Knik Goose Bay Rd. Roman was
unable to avoid colliding with Delpozzo's 1996 Nissan Sentra. The Ford
sustained an estimated $2,000 worth of damage. The Nissan sustained an
estimated $5,000 worth of damage. Both vehicles were towed from the
scene. Both drivers reported to have been wearing their seatbelts at the
time of the collision and alcohol is not a factor in the crash. Delpozzo
was issued a citation for Failure to Yield to Vehicle Entering
Intersection After Stop.

Type: DUI
Text: On 10/12/08 at approximately 2334 hours the AST South Central DUI
Enforcement Team contacted Sigurd M. Langnes, age 73, at his Wasilla
residence in response to a REDDI report. Langnes was found to have been
operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was arrested
for DUI. Langnes was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility where he
was held until released to a sober adult third party.

Type: DUI-Drugs

Text: On 10/12/08 at approximately 0115 hours, Alaska State Troopers
stopped a white Mercury vehicle near 0.5 mile Long Lake Road in Willow
for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as
Dawn M. Patterson, age 38 of Willow. Investigation revealed Patterson
was operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs. Patterson
was arrested, transported and remanded to Mat-su Pretrial. Bail was set
at $2,000 plus CATP.

Location: Palmer

Case number: 08-85836

Type: MVC-I

Text: On 10-13-08 at approximately 1005 hours, AST responded to a MVC on
Palmer-Wasilla Highway (PWH) near Irwin Loop. Anna Reed, age 28 of
Palmer, was traveling E/B on PWH, in a red 1993 Dodge truck, when Steven
Scott, age 22 of Palmer, crossed the center line, in a blue 1989 Chevy
truck, and hit Reed head on. Reed reported injuries and was transported
to MSRMC by EMS. No other injuries were reported at the scene. Occupants
of each vehicle were wearing seatbelts. Both vehicles were totaled.
Scott was cited for Failure to Exercise Due Care to Avoid a Collision
and Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.

Case Number: 08-85915

Type: MVC-I

Text: On 10/13/2008 at approximately 1308 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a single vehicle collision with injuries at E.
Fireweed Road near E. Gershmel Loop in Wasilla. Investigation revealed
Rose Hawk, age 18 of Wasilla, was driving her 2001 Buick Century
eastbound on E. Fireweed Road when she lost control of her vehicle on a
patch of ice causing it to go off of the road and collide with some
trees. Hawk reported wearing her seatbelt. Hawk suffered minor
injuries and was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center by EMS.
Damage to the vehicle is estimated to be $2,000.00. Hawk was not cited.

Type: MVC-D

Text: On 10/13/2008 at approximately 0720 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a single vehicle rollover near mile 33 of the Glenn
Highway. Investigation revealed Aaron Whitecotton, age 20 of Palmer,
was driving his 1994 Nissan Pathfinder northbound on the Glenn Highway
when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice and went off of the road
causing it to roll. Whitecotton reported wearing his seatbelt and
stated he was not injured. Damage to the vehicle is estimated to be
$5,000.00. Hawk was not cited.

Type: Warrant Arrest

Text: On October 10, 2008, at 1030 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Bethel contacted Gary Peltola, 29, of Wasilla, for an outstanding
arrested warrant. Arrest Warrant 3AN08-1859CR was issued after Peltola
failed to satisfy a court judgment. Peltola was remanded to YKCC on $250
bail.

Type: Driving While License Suspended
Text: On 10/13/08 at approximately 0857 hours Kodiak AST stopped a 1999
Green Ford truck for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as
Marcus N. Bump, 31 years of age from Hillsboro, OR. A driver's license
records check revealed that Bump's license was in suspended status out
of Oregon. Bump was charged with driving while license suspended. The
vehicle was released to the owner.

Text: On Monday, October 13, 2008, the Alaska State Troopers arrested
David Beans, 38 yoa of St. Mary's, on a warrant for License Required to
Sell Alcohol in a Dry Village, Import Alcohol into a Dry Village,
Solicit Purchase of Alcohol for Another, Restricted Person in Licensed
Area, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Littering after
completing the investigation of a July incident in St. Mary's.

contacted 35 YOA Marlon Ray Inga of Old Harbor at the Kodiak Police
Department reference a felony arrest warrant for two counts of Assault
3. Inga was subsequently remanded at the Kodiak Jail on two counts of
Assault 3.

Type: Criminal Mischief 1, Vehicle Theft 1

Text: On Sunday, 10-12-08, at about 1654 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report that a 1985 Cat D6 dozer owned by the State of Alaska
Department of Transportation had been driven into the ocean sometime
between 10-11-08 and 10-12-08 by unknown individual(s). Alaska State
Troopers responded to Three Mile Beach located at 11.9 mile Pasagshak
Highway where they observed the dozer partially submerged in the ocean.
The vehicle was a total loss and valued at more than $100,000.00.

Type: Assault IV, Domestic Violence and MIP
Text: On 10/12/2008 at approximately 1800 hours, the Old VPSO received a
telephone call from an adult female, that her 18 year son had threatened
to strike her and that he was intoxicated. It was further reported that
someone was holding her son down so that he would not hurt her. The VPSO
responded to the residence and placed the 18 year old male subject under
arrest, charged with assault in the fourth degree (DV) and minor
consuming The subject was transported from Old Harbor to Kodiak where
he was remanded at the Kodiak Jail.

Type: Agency Assist DOC Parole Violation

Text: On 10/13/08, at approximately 1752 hours, Nome AST received a
report that Benjamin Daniels, of Elim, was intoxicated and involved in
several physical confrontations. Daniels is on Felony Parole and under
Nome Probation Office supervision. AST investigation determined that no
new offenses had been committed by Daniels. AST contacted Nome Adult
Probation officer and responded to Elim. Investigation determined
Daniels had violated his Parole conditions by consuming alcohol.
Daniels was arrested and transported to Nome without incident. Nome
ABADE investigator assisted in this matter.

Text: On 10/12/08 at 1630 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report of five over due fisherman. Francis Vaska, age 14, John Blair,
age 34, Karlton Morgan, age 15, Alfred Morgan, age 24, and Stephen
Simeon, age 17, all of Aniak left on 10/10/08 to go fishing on Whitefish
Lake. After a short search the individuals were located 4 miles south of
Aniak making their way through the river ice.

Type: Sexual Assault in the Second Degree

Text: On 10/11/08, AST received a request to do a welfare check in the
village of Napakiak. During the welfare check a witness reported a
sexual assault of a 47 YOA woman of Napakiak. Investigation led to the
arrest of Moses Jenkins, 21 YOA of Napakiak, for Sexual Assault in the
second Degree. Charges were forwarded to the District Attorneys Office.

Text: On 10/12/2008 at 0030 hrs, the Fairbanks DUI Enforcement Troopers
stopped a silver 2008 Toyota car near North Pole for speeding. Bowen
Jay Alexander, age 18 of Fairbanks, was identified as the driver.
Investigation revealed his Alaska driving privileges were suspended.
Alexander was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and remanded
at Fairbanks Correctional Center. Bail was set at $1000.

Type: Accidental Death
Text: On 10-12-08, at approximately 1145 hours, Troopers responded to a
death in Ninilchik. Ricky Thompson, 49 yoa, of Ninilchik, was discovered
by a friend, George Anderson, 49 yoa, of Homer. Trooper investigation
revealed that Thompson died of an apparent shop accident sometime after
1900 hours on 10-10-08 and 1142 hours on 10-12-08. Next of kin were
notified. The SME office was notified and the body was released to
Peninsula Memorial.

Type: Assault 4 DV

Text: On 10-11-2008 at approximately 0003 hours, Soldotna AST responded
to The Place bar in Nikiski for a reported assault. Investigation
reveled Dustin Williams, 33 of Nikiski, assaulted his girlfriend by
striking her several times in the face. The victim was transported to
the hospital for treatment. Williams fled the scene and was not
located. A warrant was requested for his arrest.

AK Wildlife Troopers

Case number: 08-85115

Type: False Statement License Application

Text: On 10-7-2008, the Soldotna Wildlife Troopers issued a summons to
Rene J. Chicoine, 61 YOA from Colorado Springs, CO. Chicoine was
charged with making a false statement on an application for a 2007 7-day
nonresident sport fish license. Investigation revealed that Chicoine's
right to obtain a hunting or fishing license is revoked in his home
state of Colorado. His revocation began on 7-11-2003 and runs until
7-10-2023. Alaska law prohibits an individual from purchasing a
hunting, fishing or trapping license if that individual's right to
obtain a like license is revoked in another state. Arraignment was set
for 11-7-2008 in the Kenai District Court.

while conducting manifest checks at a local air carrier in Nome, AK.
Incident to contact, 4-750ml bottles of alcohol were seized from his
luggage. Further investigation revealed Peter Anasogak, age 21, of
Koyuk, AK, provided the juvenile with the alcohol and asked him to
import to Koyuk, AK for him.
