Keep Florida out of Alaska! Having moved to Alaska in January too, (same as Vickers) from Florida, in a desperate attempt to distance myself from the most corrupt state on the planet, I urge Alaskans to keep Vicker's out of Alaskan politics. He's riding high on Ted Steven's recent indictment but in his attempts to appear squeaky clean and offering to save Alaskans from further corruption it only makes my skin crawl. I know from personal experience, having lived in Florida for the past fifteen years before coming to Alaska, that Alaskans do not indeed, need a Floridian to represent them. Florida is the extreme version of corruption to the nth degree! I don't know anything about Vic Vickers personally but the fact that he hails form Florida is enough to make my stomach turn. DON'T SUPPORT VIC VICKERS!

If I was a Republican I'd vote for the guy
Then again, I'd sooner find a suspicious lump than be a Republican, but still.... with Grandpa Ted about to do a stretch at the Pioneer Lockup, I'd vote for Vic if only to have a candidate whose photo doesn't show him in front view and profile holding a sign with his booking number. Just sayin'....

At this point, I don't care if he's a liberal or a conservative. The fact that he hasn't even been here a year is what is most important to me. This guy may be the greatest thing since electricity, but he needs to show the folks in the state where he stands. All he's done so far is make commercials in front of Uncle Ted's home and appear on some talk shows. What is he going to do for the people and the State, and how will he do it? How does he conduct himself in a debate, in an election, in public?
For now, he's just another carpetbagger.

His latest ad is a good indicator
that he is swimming in unknown waters. If he knew the political history here, he wouldn't be playing up his banking experience.

the American Carpetbag Industry is being kept alive!
Hillary Clinton...carpetbagger in New York.
Ethan Berkowitz & Vic Vickers in Alaska.
Without these folks and a very few others another American industry would either collapse or move to China!

to come from somewhere. At least Berkowitz has been here for awhile. Heck, George Bush, Sr. did the same thing when he ran in Texas. His home was in Maine. Opportunists abound in our political system.

the American Carpetbag industry will continue to exist even when automobiles are no longer made here.
Not that there's anything wrong with that....

You can't be serious. You admit you don't know Vickers personally but because he's from Florida you would ignore the one candidate that isn't corruptible?
Clearly, he has his own money. He's refused contributions from big oil & gas and all their associates.
He's the guy who took on the Emir of Dubai over the ports deal and got Congress to act.
Alaska has been named the most corrupt delegation in the country. Who better than someone who loves the state but owes no one anything, to come in and clean up the mess. Regardless of political affiliation.
They say you elect the Senator you deserve. Let's hope
Alaskans have learned from the last years of trauma/drama that a new perspective and a bold vision will truly reflect their desire for an Alaska everyone can be proud of.

Alaska has a very long history of people showing up here to "save" us from ourselves. They usually have no sense of historical context, nor do they have more than a passing knowledge of the issues here. You'll have to forgive us all for being a bit leery after being burned so many times.
That said, the diatribes about him being a liberal are just smoke and mirrors. It makes no difference what his political leanings are; what matters is that he needs to be able to adequately represent the state. It's not a hobby; it's a job that requires full attention.

The worst of those who have shown up to "Save Alaska From Alaskans" are the Environmentalists. They don't have a clue, but they do have contributors $$$.

Everybody has to come from
Everybody has to come from somewhere, but I have to agree Florida can be corrupt.
