Text: On 8-3-2008 at approximately 0211 hours, AST conducted a traffic
stop on a vehicle for a moving violation at 4 mile North Tongass Hwy.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver Michael Barron, age 35
of Ketchikan, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Barron was
arrested for DUI and remanded at the Ketchikan Correctional Center
without incident.

Text: On 8-2-2008 at approximately 2129 hours, AST received a report
that there was a single vehicle accident at 14 mile N. Tongass Hwy.
Investigation revealed that Perla Busch-Aguirre, age 18, of Ketchikan
was driving her 2006 Chevrolet HHR northbound on the N. Tongass Hwy when
she attempted to pull into a driveway. Busch-Aguirre subsequently did
not make the turn and drove into the ditch and the vehicle rolled on its
side. The vehicle sustained damage and both the driver and passenger
reported to be wearing seat belts. No injuries were reported.
Busch-Aguirre was issued a citation for No Proof of Insurance.

Text: On 08/01/08 at about 0214 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Ketchikan conducted a traffic stop on a black 1994 Jeep Cherokee for a
defective muffler. Subsequent investigation revealed that the passenger
Jolene Kantrud, age 33, of Ketchikan appeared to be under the influence
of drugs and was currently on conditions of release stating that she was
not to be in possession of any controlled substance or paraphernalia.
Investigation revealed that J. Kantrud was in possession of both a
controlled substance and paraphernalia. J. Kantrud was arrested for
VCOR, MICS 6 and remanded at KCC.

Text: During the months of June and July Alaska State Troopers in Juneau
registered 31 sex offenders, initiated five investigations for offenders
being out of compliance of which charges have been forwarded to the
District Attorneys Office on four of those and verified the location of
six additional offenders. Approximately 200 known sex offenders reside
within the City and Bureau of Juneau that are required to register with
the state.

Enforcement Team contacted the driver of a vehicle that was reported as

revealed that Pamela S. Munro, age 43, of Soldotna, was operating the
vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Munro was arrested and remanded

responded to a residence off of Quiet Circle, Wasilla, for a report of

of a death on 3531 Shamrock Drive. Investigation revealed that Carol

Next of kin was on scene and the body was released to the family. No
foul play is suspected.

Type: Boat Collision
Text: On 8/3/08 at 2020 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the
Little Susitna River at Burma Landing for a report of a boat collision
on the Little Susitna river. Investigation revealed that Raymond
Matherne, age 46, of Wasilla, was operating his vessel on the river when
he was struck by a boat being operated by Jasper Knaab, age 41, of
Wasilla. Mary Ann Matherne, age 77, of Washington, who was also on
Raymond's boat, was injured in the collision. She was transported to
Providence Medical Center, Anchorage, by Life Guard for treatment of her
injuries. Mary Ann was listed in stable condition. No other injuries
were reported. Investigation continues.

Text: On 08-04-2008, at 0304 hours, the Alaska State Troopers issued a
Summons for Driving While License Suspended to Bret L. Bouslaugh, age
20, of Wasilla. Bouslaugh was contacted by Troopers at Wasilla Fishhook
Road near E. Hiawatha Drive for an equipment violation. Investigation
revealed that Bouslaugh was driving on a suspended license on the
original charge of points violations. Bouslaugh was issued a Summons
and is scheduled to appear in court. The vehicle was released to a
licensed driver.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision - Injury
Text: On 08/03/2008, at approximately 2240 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a single motor vehicle rollover collision at
the intersection of Caudill Road and Pine Needle Way in Palmer.
Investigation revealed Rachel Morin (27) of Palmer was operating her
1993, green Toyota Four Runner eastbound on Caudill Road when she lost
control of the vehicle. Morin's vehicle rolled two times before coming
to rest, on it tires, in the ditch. Morin had two passengers with her in
the vehicle. Butte EMS responded on scene and transported Morin to
Mat-Su Regional Medical Center where she was treated for minor injuries.
The other passengers were uninjured. All parties report wearing their
seat belts. Morin's vehicle was totaled in the collision.

Text: On 8-4-08 at approximately 0935 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a local bar in the Big Lake area for a reported burglary.
Investigation revealed that sometime between 2230 hours on 8-3-08 and
0915 hours on 8-4-08, entry was made into the bar through a door that
was forced open. Five cases of whiskey, rum and vodka were taken.
Total value of the stolen items is approximately $1,400.00. The case is

Type: Talkeetna Bluegrass Enforcement Efforts

Text: On Sunday, August 3, 2008 AST concluded four days of enforcement
effort in support of the annual Talkeetna Bluegrass Festival held over
the weekend near 102 mile on the Parks Highway. Troopers from the
Talkeenta Post, Southcentral DUI Team, Palmer Post and MatSu West Post
conducted enforcement efforts in the area from Thursday July 31 through
Sunday, August 3rd.

Enforcement efforts resulted in 1 felony DUI arrest, 1 misdemeanor DUI
arrest, 6 warrant arrests, 1 misdemeanor arrest for misuse of vehicle
registration plates and 2 felony and 6 misdemeanor drug investigations.
Enforcement efforts also resulted in the issuance of 243 traffic
citations and 9 drivers being charged with revoked or suspended licenses
or operating vehicles without driver licenses.

No arrests were made during patrols through the Festival grounds.

During this period 1 motor vehicle accident occurred near 61.5 mile on
the Parks Highway, resulting in an injury. The occupants of this vehicle
were traveling to the Talkeetna Bluegrass Festival at the time of the
accident.

Text: On 8/4/08 at approximately 1441 hours, Don Dodds, 34 of Palmer,
reported that his residence had been burglarized. Investigation
revealed that Dodds' residence, located on Loma Rica Drive, was
forcefully entered sometime between 8/2/08 at 1530 hours and 8/4/08 at
1330 hours. Among the items stolen were an Xbox360, numerous DVD's, and
men's clothing. The investigation is continuing.

Text: On 08/04/2008 at approximately 0247 hours the AST South Central
DUI Enforcement Team stopped an ATV near the intersection of the Parks
Hwy. and Pittman Rd. after receiving a REDDI report. The driver of the
vehicle was identified as Edward D. Willard, age 40, of Anchorage.
Willard was found to be operating the vehicle while under the influence
of alcohol and was arrested for DUI. Willard refused to submit to a
chemical test and was additionally charged with Refusal to Submit to a
Chemical Test. Willard was remanded into the Mat-Su Pretrial facility
on the DUI and Refusal charges and held on $1,000.00 bail.

Text: On 8-4-08 at approximately 1436 hours, Alaska State Troopers were
notified of a stolen 3 wheeler from a residence on Old Squaw Loop,
Wasilla. Todd Dreka, age 41, of Wasilla, reported that a white 1986
Honda 3 wheeler with a blue seat was taken from his yard sometime
between 1100 hours and 1300 hours on 8-4-08. The 3 wheeler is valued at

Text: On 8-4-08 at approximately 1651 hours, AST received a report of
an expected home death near mile 149 Glenn Hwy in Nelchina. The victim
was identified as Georgia Strunk, 95 yoa of Glennallen. Strunk had
Comfort One paperwork on file and was attended by the home hospice nurse
at the time of death. Strunk's next of kin was also present at the time
of death. The SME has been notified and has released the body to the
family. At this time funeral arrangements are under way but no funeral
home has been selected. There is no foul play suspected in this case.

Text: On 08/04/2008 at 1929 hours, AST received a report of a theft of
tires from a residence on Elsinore Way in Wasilla. The male involved in
the theft was reported to be driving a blue bronco. AST located the blue
Bronco and the suspect involved in the theft at the Tire Store on the
corner of Williwaw Way and Bogard. The male was identified as Jeremy
Padie, age 23, of Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Padie took the
tires from the residence on Elsinore and intended to sell the tires at
the Tire Store. Further investigation revealed that Padie was driving on
a suspended license. Padie was arrested for Theft 2 and DWLS. He was
remanded to MSPT on $3000 bail.

received a report that 33 YOA Glenda Lee Zeedar of Ouzinkie was

release. State Troopers responded to her Ouzinkie residence where she
was observed to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Zeedar
was arrested and transported to the Kodiak Jail where she was remanded

Text: On August 3, 2008 at approximately 9:00p.m., Bethel AST received
information that 44 year old Andrew Evan of Tuntutuliak's boat was found
circling the Tuntutuliak River without an operator. Tuntutuliak
immediately began a search of the area for Evan, however was
unsuccessful. Bethel AST is coordinating the search and utilizing
resources form the Village Public Safety Officer Program as well as
Bethel Search & Rescue. Search & Rescue efforts continue. Alcohol is a

Type: Aircraft Accident
Text: On 8/4/08 Aniak AST was advised of an aircraft accident involving
a Frontier Alaska Navajo. Initial interviews suggest the plane lost
power on takeoff and crash landed in the water, coming to rest on the
edge of an island in the Kuskokwim River. Witnesses to the crash,
responded by boat and assisted transporting the passengers across the
river, where they were taken to the Aniak Clinic for treatment.
Injuries appear to be minor.
There were 8 souls on board, 1 pilot and 7 passengers. NTSB has been
identified and will be responding to Aniak for the investigation.

Text: On 8/3/08 at about 2221 hours AST responded to a report of a large
fight at the Tanana Valley Fair Grounds. Two groups of mixed juveniles
and adults engaged in a fight near the security building. A fair
security officer was injured as he attempted to break up the fight. The
suspect is described as an African- American adult male who was wearing
a brown shirt and a red hat. Anyone with information is asked to call

Text: On 8-3-08 at 1948 hrs, Troopers received a report of a motor
vehicle accident at mile 281 Richardson Highway. Troopers made contact

vehicle. Investigation revealed that Then had an Anchorage AST arrest
warrant for failure to appear on a Minor Consuming charge. Then was
transported to Delta Clinic and treated for her injuries. Then was

Location: 38 Mile Steese Hwy.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision - Injury
Text: On 8-2-08 at 1440 hours Alaska State Troopers responded to Mile 38
of the Steese Hwy. in response to a reported single vehicle roll over
accident. The initial report indicated the vehicle was upside down in a
bog, and the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. The
driver,subsequently identified as Elmer Jonas, age 72 of Fairbanks, was
extricated by witnesses at the scene prior to AST arrival, and was
transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for treatment of his
injuries. Investigation revealed Jonas was north bound on the Steese
Hwy. when his 2006 Toyota pick up drifted onto the shoulder, and left
the roadway. The vehicle traveled down an embankment, across a culvert
end, and struck a large tussock which resulted in the vehicle vaulting
over onto its roof. Jonas was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the
accident, and alcohol was not a factor.

personal water craft hidden in the gravel pit next to Harding Lake. The

Text: On 8/3/08 at 1900 hrs Alaska State Troopers responded to a motor
vehicle crash at 8 mile Dalton Hwy. Li Chen, 51 yoa of Buffalo Grove,
IL, lost control of her 2000 Ford Contour on a curve and rolled into
the ditch. Chen was not injured, she was wearing a seatbelt. Two other
passengers were also uninjured and they were wearing seat belts too.
The Ford Contour was totaled. AST transported Chen and her family to
Fairbanks. Alyeska personnel assisted with the investigation.

Text: On August 3, 2008, at about 1759 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a vehicle being damaged in the parking lot of Moose
Creek Apartments. Investigation revealed someone damaged the driver's
door and broke the back window of a 1989 Chevrolet Camero causing more
that $1000 in damage. Anyone with information in regard to this case is
asked to call the Alaska State Troopers.

Text: On August 3, 2008, at about 1537 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a burglary in progress near Pheasant Drive in North
Pole. Investigation revealed that someone tried to forcefully enter the
side door of a residence. Upon arrival to the scene, the suspects were
no longer on scene. Investigation continues.

Text: On 8-3-08, at approximately 1621 hours, Girdwood AST initiated a
traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding 80mph in a posted 65mph zone near
mile 98 of the Seward Highway in the safety corridor. Investigation
revealed the driver of the vehicle, Lindsey S. Bryant, age 58, of Homer,
was operating with a suspended driver's license. Bryant was issued a
summons to appear in court. Bryant was also issued a traffic citation
for speeding. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

Text: On 8/3/08, Robert A. Pennini, 55 yoa, of Clam Gulch AK, was cited
by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for aiding in the commission of a

exceed the North Gulf Coast Bag limit on Rockfish. Arraignment was set

old Palmer resident Robert Carlson. Investigation revealed Carlson was
snagging salmon. Carslon's salmon and fishing gear was seized. Carlson
was cited into the Palmer court with a bail amount set at $130.00.
