Hey all,
Where is the best place to go right now to catch any type of Salmon? I went down to the Kasilof and Kenai this past weekend and I didnt catch a thing. Im leaving Alaska soon and my one thing I want to do that I havent done yet is catch a Salmon... PLEASE... ANY helpful hot spots please post back!!!
Head down to Seward, if you can get past the flooded areas and hook up with a charter from The Fish House. They are pounding the Silvers in Resurrection Bay and the limit is 6 fish per person.
Go to HOPE, all the way down to mile 17 and park on the left side of the road. You can see the pinks with your naked eye, reach down and you can touch them. It's a great ego booster...just release the pinks if you don't want to catch them.
Ship Creek gave up some fine kings tonight (6/8). mine - #5 gold vibrox, 10 lb. buck, fillet and on the grill in less than an hour. It was some fine eat'in. 1 down 4 to go.
been 5 times this year. seen atleast 5 fish caught at high tide everytime...outgoing producing more fish... hopefully they start comeing in more...goodluck to everyone
Yep, I missed that article on Jim's retirement.......and I will miss Jim's contribution, to my fishing adventures + his wit and humor about good 'ol Ship Creek. I hope ADN will archive the "Fish'in Dude" videos for all of us to enjoy over and over. Good luck Jim and don't forget to CHECK YOUR KNOTS AND SET YOUR HOOK !!
Here is the story some of you apparently missed last fall. A big loss for the ADN and a bigger loss for us readers.

went this morning about 630 thought i seen one roll let me say that again THOUGHT,but that was it! no hook-ups,seen a 35inchchar and 23inch trout caught out of a lake in kincad park no names if you know then you know!
I am from the lower 48 and I am making my second trip to alaska in two years love it there. I will be in Anchorage the 2nd week of june for four days and would love to catch a grayling can any one tell me where i would go and what lures would be good to use thank you
fishing was hot this past weekend. there were big silvers being caught. i witness about 5 silvers looked to be like 10-13 pounds being landed. plenty of excitement for everyone. get out there and enjoy it.
Last week my 10 year old son asked me to take him fishing. I really am wanting to find some trout here in town if it is possible. I hear Jewell Lake is good. Any suggestions? I still have to buy a license and try to figure out the regs...it's all pretty daunting at first glance.
Jewel lake can be great for kids. If you don't have any kind of boat or raft, fish from the dock just west of Jewel Lake road on Dimond. Use a bobber and eggs.
I went to bird last weekend and limited out quick. Everyone around me was catching too. Allot of pinks but plenty silvers. Anytime someone promises there's no fish at a spot, they're probably going to fish that spot as soon as they are out of your sight.
hey guys. i was at ship creek at 2pm yesterday and caught a silver in 15mins. thats the first fish ever landed for me at ship creek. I couldnt believe it. I have had bad luck at ship and now my luck is finally turning around. the day ended with me baggin 2 nice silvers. go out and have some fun
a couple friends and i fished bird creek yesturady and everybody was catching, that is except for me. o'well!!! i'll get mine next time. my buddies were using eggs. and i wasn't. maybe thats why i didn't catch anything. but i sure did love eatting that fresh silver!! fish on everyone !
Also could someone tell me a webpage to go find this years fishing regs for campbell dont say ADFG i already checked doe snot say what hooks you can use its pretty stupid
Spent a few hours at Campbell Creek (on the open section between Dimond and C Street). The water is high and muddy. The only person I talked to who caught anything was a group of kids at the mouth using bait. Which is illegal.
my lady and i manage to bag 2 silvers. there were plenty of fish to hook. the silver run is looking strong for the year. get out there if you get a chance.
i stopped by bird creek at around 8:30 pm today and saw a couple of guys holding 5 silvers each. looks like the fish is starting to swim in. i'll be heading back there again this weekend to fish.
The bag limit is 3. I was there yesterday and there are lots of pinks to be caught and the silvers are trickling in, but they are beautiful. Maybe you should consult an Identification chart and learn to tell the difference between a female pink and a silver.
That makes six fish possible. It's possible. Fish the tide in starting below the bridge. Drift eggs and bobber with about 4ft. leader. Then drift egg sucking leech. You can't fish lures well in bird because of all the people.

Bad Information
I apologize for the misinformation. I was wrong.
Upstream of the forks near Piper Street, only one unbaited, single-hook, artificial lure is allowed year round.
