A man died in a car crash in Seldovia after he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree. See the dispatch below.

Type: Theft 2nd degree from yards
Text: On 04-25-2008 at approximately 0846 hours, the Alaska State
Troopers received a report of a missing mountain Rocky Mountain brand
bike. The bicycle is metallic silver & white and has a full suspension
front and back with disc brakes and clip less pedals. The bike is
missing from the area of Wood Rd. in Ketchikan. This case is still
under investigation. Anyone with any information regarding this case is
asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan at 225-5118.

Type: Warrant Arrest
Text: On 4/24/08 at 1828 hours, AST contacted Justin J. Williams, age
33, of Ketchikan at a residence on Yorktown Drive. Investigation
revealed that a bench warrant from the Ketchikan District Court had been
issued for Williams for the charges of Assault 3rd Degree, Reckless
Driving and False Report. Williams was arrested and remanded to the
Ketchikan Correctional Center on $5000.00 bail.

Location: Angoon
Case number: 08-30500
Type: Motor Vehicle Collision/Property Damage
Text: On 4/23/08, at 2118 hours, the Angoon VPSO received a report of a
motor vehicle collision at the Angoon Elementary School. Investigation
revealed that on 4/23/08, at approximately 2110 hours, Richard Hunt Jr.,
age 23 of Angoon, was backing up in a 1998 Ford Explorer when he struck
the handrail in front of the main entrance to the elementary school.
The vehicle sustained damage to the left taillight and rear window.
Estimated damage to the vehicle is $1,500.00. Seatbelts were utilized
and no injuries were sustained. Hunt was cited for expired registration
and failure to provide proof of insurance.

Type: Burglary/Theft
Text: On 4-24-08 at approximately 2335 hours, AST responded to a
reported Burglary at a residence on N. Trails End Circle. Investigation
revealed that the front door was pried open. A witness saw a white male
leave the residence at approximately 1200 hours. The suspect left with
two guns and a 32" TV in a dark green 4-door car believed to be a Ford
Taurus or a KIA. The residence was not occupied at the time of the
Burglary. Anyone with information regarding this investigation please

Type: Death Investigation-Natural Causes
Text: On 04-22-08, at approximately 1920 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Kotzebue were contacted by a Health Aide in Kiana, who reported Elmer
Gooden, age 64, of Kiana, had died. An investigation determined Gooden
died of natural causes while under medical care and the death was
expected. Next of kin was on scene at teh time of Gooden's death. The
State Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and released Gooden's
remains to his family for burial.

Case number: 08-30695
Type: Drive in Violation of Instructional Permit
Text: On 04-24-08 at approximately 1300 hours, Troopers contacted Riche
ZAMOR Jr, 27 of Washington D.C., at mile 157 of the Parks Highway for a
traffic infraction. Investigation revealed that ZAMOR was driving alone
in the vehicle and he only had an instructional driving permit. ZAMOR's
license restrictions required him to have a person at least twenty-one
years old with him at all times while operating the vehicle. ZAMOR was
issued traffic citations and a summons for Driving in Violation of an
Instructional Permit. The vehicle was impounded. Investigation
complete.

Location: Seldovia
Case number: 08-30521
Type: MVC-F
Text: On 4/24/08 at 4:01 a.m. Homer Police Department received a 911
call reporting a single vehicle collision with a fatality in Seldovia.
Seldovia Fire and EMS responded to the scene, approximately one mile
down Jackoloff Road. AST responded from Anchor Point to investigate.
Investigation determined Laramie Morrison, age 28 of Homer was driving
his Chevy Impala southbound on Jackoloff Rd. when he lost control of the
vehicle and collided with a tree. Morrison died as a result of his
injuries sustained in the collision. Sonny Agli, age 29, of Seldovia,
was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision and
sustained non life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be
factor in the collision. Toxicology will be conducted on Morrison. Next
of Kin has been notified. Investigation is ongoing at this time.

Type: DWLS
Text: On 4-24-08, at approximately 1940 hours, a Trooper from Girdwood
initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding near mile 98 of the
Seward Highway in the safety corridor. Investigation revealed the driver
of the vehicle, Christopher L. Carpenter age 27 of Anchorage, was
operating with a suspended driver's license. Carpenter was issued a
summons to appear in court. Carpenter was also issued a traffic citation
for speeding. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver at the
scene.

Location: Cooper Landing
Type: DWLS
Text: On 4/19/08 at 1600 hours, a Cooper Landing based State Trooper
stopped a vehicle at 48.5 of the Sterling Hwy for a traffic violation.
The driver, Molly Luke 35 yoa of Anchorage, was subsequently charged
with DWLS after investigation revealed Luke's driver's license is
currently in suspended status. Luke was scheduled to appear in the
Seward Court for the above charge at a later date. The vehicle was
released to a licensed driver.

Location: Cooper Landing
Type: Misuse of Plates
Text: On 4/19/08 a Cooper Landing based State Trooper stopped a vehicle
at 44 mile of the Sterling Highway for a traffic violation. Subsequent
investigation led to the driver of the vehicle, 20 year old Jeramiah
Niederhauser of Kenai, to being charged with misuse of plates after the
investigation revealed that the vehicle displayed a license plate
belonging to another vehicle. Niederhauser was issued a summons to
appear in court at a later date and released from the scene.
