BILL ALLEN TESTIMONY (09/14/2007)

Bill Allen, former chairman of VECO, takes the stand for the third day in Pete Kott's corruption trial Sept. 14, 2007.

Audio: Part one
Allen says he was concerned about scratches in the new floor at his house, but doesn't recall having a conversation with Kott about applying a coating to protect it.

Allen says he doesn't know the total he and other VECO representatives have donated to political candidates over the years, or to Kott in particular.

Allen says the plea agreement he signed protected his family from being charged with a criminal offense. But it was ineffectual in protecting his 4,000 employees from losing their jobs, as he hoped.

Prosecutor asking Bill Allen what agreement he had with the FBI about his children, and about the $7,000-plus invoice for floor work that Kott never did for him
