Aces' Backs Against Proverbial Wall

BOISE, Idaho -- With Sunday night's 7-2 loss to the Idaho Steelheads, the Alaska Aces are up against it -- a wall, if you must know -- in a big way.

Now they must win three straight games -- Tuesday night's Game 5, then a set back home -- in order to advance the Kelly Cup Finals and defend their title.

That's some tall order -- that's not Zdeno Chara tall, that's Manute Bol and Shawn Bradley tall.

If you Aces fans care, here are our picks for the three stars from Game 4. Not surprisingly, none are Aces.

Game 4’s Three Stars

1. Marty Flichel, Idaho center: Bounced back from Game 3 knee injury to bag two goals.

2. John Lammers, Idaho wing: Scored pivotal go-ahead goal, added three helpers.

3. Francis Wathier, Idaho center: Back from Iowa of AHL for first game of playoffs, provided huge hustle assist on Lammers’ goal.

I BELIEVE!

I believe the true Alaska Aces are behind tthe Aces 100% even when they are behind 3 games to 1. Those men on the ice have what it takes to win the series. A hero came out as hope in game 3 and it is time to dig deep. Hope brought us this far now it is time to bring hope to the the end and win it all. LETS GO ACES!

I agree

They looked HORRIBLE. All they wanted to do was fight. Not a way to win a hockey game. Put a fork in 'em, they're done.

It's okay ACES!!

Season's over...it's okay Alaska!! You're still #1 in the eyes of your fans!! Still our hometown hero's...you did your best and that's all that counts. Give ur selves a pat on the back for making it that far. We will see you next season...We're proud of you :).

Alaska Fan Base

Idaho fan's are giving the Steelheads life, shouldn't we try to feed the Aces life?...as bad as the games have been, let's show 'em what Alaska Aces Fans are really about. No doubt the guys are lacking at the moment..but it ain't over!! Play-offs are still alive, we AREN'T eliminated just yet...

Our U outta Ur mind?

To date, our only P/O days have been on Mondays & tuesdays! And even though we still have to work the next day, we were there- clsed to a packed Sully.

Did you see the SpudHut on Sunday night?? Just over 3,000 peope!

IdaHO fans are B-O-R-I-N-G... So what if they were lucky and got all the affiliate players right when they nedded them.

I've been to 17 ECHL arenas to date .. and While I'll say this -- WE NEED A NEW ARENA IN ANCHORAGE ... Winner or Losing, we have the abosute best fans there are! The Aces knows that, the owners know that, and those of us that wake up in the week hours to meet the guys at the airport sure welcoming them home!

This series with the Idaho hasn't gone so great -- hey -- it happens. But I don't for one second think that it's the fan base that is making Boise play so well.

LOL!! When it comes to FAN BASES==== The Aces have the best bar none!!! The Cowbell Crew & Bob Lester you rock!

Aces backers need to stick together

seems like puckster and suzy are Aces fans hardcore when they are winning and Aces bashers when they are losing. I back the Aces win or lose, they are our home town team, it is better when they win, but my backing does not stop there. Win or lose I cheer on the Aces. GO ACES.....BRING THE GAME BACK HOME!!!!

Exactly!!

Thank you!! And we all need to back them win or lose...it makes the Alaska Ace fan base look bad when they are bashed like that. Win or lose, they are OUR hometown hero's. We would love for them to advance, but if it doesn't go that route...hey, they are still our Alaska Aces and will always be #1. HERE WE GO ACES, HERE WE GO!!...BRING THE GAME HOME!! Enuff said...

great season

Thanks aces for another great season. Its a bummer we are done cause we would have won the cup again, but at least it will stay in the west. The east teams dont have a chance. Go Steelies! Next year we will be back better than ever. Maybe with a new coach (keith McCambridge) if Davis heads for the "A". I have to admit I was down on the boy's only because I knew they could play so much better. Oh well, look out next year Idaho.

Where are our 3 stars?

Okay Aces!! Prove to us you want to the three stars of the game...Unless you can start getting physical yourselves...it ain't happening. It certainly isn't going to happen when Gustafson is being left alone at the net either. We are still awaiting an Alaskan size party...
